Welcome to Department of Pharmaceutical SciencesThe Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in 1995. Currently, the department is running B.Pharm, M.Pharm and Ph.D programmes. The B.Pharm program, a four year (i.e., eight semesters) degree course is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Total intake of B.Pharm course is 60, admission to which is made by entrance examination. The Department offers AICTE and PCI approved M.Pharm programmes with specialization in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy with intake of 15, 15, 10 and 10 respectively. The admission to M.Pharm course is made on the basis of valid GPAT score. The department also provides opportunity to pharmacy post-graduates to pursue to Ph.D (Pharmaceutical Sciences) program. Enrollment to Ph.D programmes is given to those scholars who successfully qualify the Pre-Ph.D course work. Admission to Pre-Ph.D course work is given on the basis of entrance exam. The Department has well-qualified and experienced faculty members who are actively engaged in teaching and research. The faculty members have published a good number of research papers in the national and International journals of repute during the last 5 years. The Department strives to update the knowledge and skills of its faculty, research scholars and students, and for this Department has on its expert's panel a galaxy of reputed academicians and professionals from pharmaceutical industry who visit the department regularly to share the latest advancements and technology with our students and faculty. The department supports the ethical research in the diverse areas of pharmaceutical sciences and to achieve this mechanisms such as CPCSEA approved Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) are in place. The department has remained among top 50 pharmacy institutions of India in NIRF ranking list.

M.PHARM (Pharmaceutical Chemistry , Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy)
OBJECTIVE : The M. Pharm degree is a four semester programme. In the first two semesters, the students are required to study all the papers prescribed, while the last two semesters are devoted entirely to research work. The course has been structured to make the students capable of facing the challenges in the industry. Experienced staff members train the students in well equipped laboratories with state of the art technology. Pharmaceutical Chemistry section is engaged in research including synthesis and/or analysis of new,
potent and safe drug molecules. Pharmaceutics section is involved in the development of drug delivery systems and pharmaceutical dosage forms. Research projects in the field of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics are also being taken up. Pharmacology section conducts research in psychopharmacology, metabolic disorders and exploring the pharmacological potential of medicinal plants. The main areas of research in Pharmacognosy are standardization, Isolation, characterization and identification of phytoconsituents along with biological
screening of extracts/phytoconstituents and development of herbal formulations.

OBJECTIVE : The B.Pharm. degree is an eight semester (Four Years)programme, and the syllabus has been designed to cover all aspects of Pharmaceutical Sciences with an aim to provide students with both theory and practical training, in order to enable them to be ideally suited to pharmaceutical industry and health care system. The Department aims at imparting quality pharmacy education to the students through the state of the art technology so as to equip them to meet the growing global opportunities in Pharmaceutical and Health care sector. Ample opportunities exist in the field of Drug industry, Research & Developments, Drug control department, Academics, Marketing and sales, etc.

400 research papers in the national and International journals of repute during the last 5 years. Recently, one patent application has been filed from the Department.

For Admission to B.Pharmacy programmes : Admissions to B.Pharmacy programmes shall be made through on-line counseling by the
Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES), Panchkula.
Admission to Lateral Entry to 2nd year (LEET) of B.Pharmacy shall be made through On-line
Entrance Test to be conducted by Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES), Panchkula.
